This excellent summer sipper is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (75%), Chardonnay (15%) and Viognier (10%). This new release is a wonderful addition of the resume for winemaker Ben. This is a wonderfully light, crisp and acidic number that screams fruity passionfruit and share all summer long. Great chilled.
The Yarra Valley is Australian cool climate wine. Sophisticated pinot noir and chardonnay take pride of place here accounting for approximately 70% of all wine produced, but the great new world Syrah being produced in this region is exciting and absolutely something to watch.
The distinct upper and lower subregions and plethora of microclimates in the Yarra Valley mean that the region produces a diverse range of styles - a pinot from the warmer climate Lower Yarra Valley will be different from a pinot from the higher altitude, cooler temperature Upper Yarra.
Ben Haines has a wide amount of winemaking experience … his brand “reflects a delving fascination with grape growing and notions of terroir; an ethos defined by the idea that the vineyard inspires the winemaking approach year to year.”
