Voyager's Shiraz has been going from strength to strength and the 2017, from a cooler season, is another leap forward. Sourced from select parcels from four Shiraz blocks, it offers the understated elegance of the Voyager style-it's bright and juicy with hints of earth and spice.
Hand-harvested whole berries were fermented with gentle hand plunging and pump-overs. Following ferment, the wines were pressed, transferred to barrel and matured in quality French oak (34% new) for 12 months and racked periodically to aid clarification."
Despite viticulture being barely 50 years old (with the first vines being planted in the 1960's), the Margaret River wine region has firmly established itself as a global rising star. The climate of the region is so befitting to winemaking (and similar to the French region) that it is commonly called Australia's answer to Bordeaux.
The vignerons of Australia's west coast have quickly harnessed this ancient terroir, which is suited perfectly to viticulture, and now produce 25% of Australia's premium wine. Amongst other varietals, the elegant Cabernets, Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blanc of the Margaret River won't disappoint even the most discerning of tastebuds.
