White Mischief, our exciting New World version of Gruner Veltliner, is back with the new 2021 vintage release. Last year's version received numerous awards, including Wine of Show at the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show. Now try this exciting new vintage! This New World style gives free-range to the exuberant aromatics that this exciting variety has the potential to produce. The nose is bursting with enticing tropical and citrus aromatics and the palate is a vibrant tumble of guava, pear and ruby-grapefruit. This is all held together with an explosive mineral twist and the all-important textural rub. Perfect with all Asian cuisine, all white meats, vegetarian dishes, seafood, and soft cheeses.
Gruner Veltliner is a variety that ages well and this wine should develop splendidly for between 7 - 10 years.
The Adelaide Hills are certainly alive - perhaps not with the sound of music - but rather, vast quantities of unique wines that circulate through the region's pristine body. This region is still a new kid on the Australian wine block - but is producing finessed cool climate classics such as Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Hipster's will be happy in the Adelaide Hills too, with the region being home to a plethora of alternative varietals such as Blaufrankisch and Gruner Veltliner.
The Hills are chock full of cellar doors serving up the best of the region's food and wine output. The cooler climate that comes with altitude serves as an important point of difference from the warmer regions in Adelaide - tarty and acidic wines dominate over the more ripe fruit that can be found elsewhere in the State of Adelaide.
